Share a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with female owner (bilingual French native).
Apartment is located near Madeleine, on the corner of metros 8, 12 and 14 and very near buses 20-29, 94 and 95 among others. Metros 1, 3. 7, 9 and 13 are just a few more blocks (less than 5 minutes) away. Very safe neighborhood with several restaurants and small shops (2 bakeries, butcher, wine, cheese and fresh produce, great hairdresser, dry cleaner, cafes, news stand etc.).
You will be able to easily walk to Tuileries and Louvre, Champs Elysees, Opera and major department stores. As a good walker I go everywhere including Left Bank, Montmartre and Marais.
Apartment was built in the mid 1850's and still has some of the original details like "hongrois" hardwood floors, fireplace and many mirrors that were installed before electricity was invented. It does have charm and squeaky floors!
Since then it has thankfully been renovated and now has 2 bathrooms and 1 separated WC, an office with fast internet and fax, a modern kitchen and an elevator. No A/C but that has only been inconvenient on a few rare occasions and we have good fans. Just don't visit in the summer if it is a concern!
Apartment is safe as it has a concierge and 2 codes to enter.
Your bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a TV in the living room with CNN and other English channels. Seldom used dining room has a huge table to work on projects or just write postcards.
A continental breakfast will be available every morning with baguette, coffee, croissants, fresh fruit and other goodies.
There will be wine in the fridge and cheese or other snacks you might prefer for late afternoon. Many guidebooks and photography books as well as maps and free advice will be available.
Additional French lessons, cooking lessons or private walking tours available, with me or my 2 wonderful partners.
Price is 129.00 Euros per night (XE: Currency Converter) with a 3 nights minimum; 7 night maximum.
