Le Printemps a Paris! Printemps means spring but it is also the name of a department store around the corner from me. It is undergoing renovation and is covered in a large canvas that shows… the store the way it normally looks. The trompe l’oeil effect comes mainly from the fact that you see reflection of buildings that are in the neighborhood but not right there.

Image of a window… There is a major renovation project on Avenue Georges V that uses trompe l’oeil effects like this. I posted a photo a while ago.

The website to look at for more photos is www.leprintempsmiroir.com

This is not a canvas but real buildings on the way from Printemps to Eglise de la Trinite in the 9th arr. Printemps… Spring… This is what spring is looking like in Paris this year. Lots of dark threatening skies.
I love this street by the way as it offers some of the best post Haussmanian architecture in Paris.
