Tree in bloom in the 9th arr.

Spring 2008 was nothing like 2007 which was nice and warm.

Spring in Tuileries

In Tuileries garden.

After the rain

A little rain and blossoms are covering ground. I love that angle.

Alice on Champs Elysees

Alice and Max are in Paris to celebrate their honeymoon. At 8:30  on the Champs Elysees, they are seuls au monde !

Alice at Pyramide up side down

Inside Louvre, we are able to dodge the crowds as well.

Alice at le Nemours

My favorite cafe le Nemours for a quick stop.

Alice and Daniel Buren

With the Daniel Buren sculptures at Palais Royal. I love that pink bag!

Alice at Jardin du Palais Royal

And finally we got to use that umbrella. It was a beautiful quiet Sunday in Paris and one that Alice and Max will remember for a long time.

Taj Mahal

I am always trying to take photos to enrich my collection of ”a room with a view”.

While in Agra I was pleasantly surprised to see beautiful Taj Mahal through this window. Google Oberoi hotels and you will see more photos like this taken from their magnificent property.

Sometimes, I think that Taj looks a little bit like… Sacre Coeur ? It is a stretch I know but colors and shapes are similar ?

Additional photos of Taj can be seen on the India section of my blog.

Cafe scene

When I am traveling, this is what I miss the most. A good, strong, hot and creamy cafe creme.

Place du Tertre in winter

Place du Tertre is so nice in winter with fewer tourists and the whole space reserved for painters. Sidewalk cafes will return with warmer days.

Place du Tertre and Sacre Coeur

The grey sky invites black and white images.

Sacre Coeur as painted by Utrillo

Utrillo painted this side street and it has not changed much since then.

Montmartre side steps

These are some side steps in Montmartre, not the long ones leading to Sacre Coeur.

You will find them as you walk down to Metro Abbesses coming from Bateau Lavoir.

Misty and Patrick

Misty and Patrick honeymooned in Paris on this cold February week end. Misty looked lovely in her dress . Do not let the blue sky fool you as temperature was in the 30ies. I will post more photos in the next few days. They wanted a photo with the Eiffel Tower so…here it is !

Wedding on Valentine’s day

Amy’s special Valentine’s day in Paris.

Valentine’s day wedding

Married in Texas last week end,  Amy and Dereck chose Paris for their honeymoon. Kissing on a Parisian bench on Valentine’s day is very special.

Rahasthani woman

This woman in the Thar desert covers her face when she sees us. But you can tell she is giving one of her beautiful smiles.

Rajasthani woman

Rajasthani women

One of the pleasures of Rajasthani life is spending time in villages and meeting the women. They are all so elegant in their colorful saris and their anklets and bangles.

A photographer in Paris has  been traveling in India this January. Photos from Paris will return soon in February.

In the meantime, enjoy some photos from India.

Sunset in Rajasthan

Watching sunset from roof top is an activity that I also learned to enjoy.

Rural scene in Rajasthan

Mustards fields are in bloom.

Village scene in Rajasthan

A typical rural scene with baby getting a bath.

Longest moustache

This guy in Jaisalmer is supposed to have the longest moustache in India…

Turban

Proud hotel employee in Bikaner. Rajasthan does turbans in hundreds of ways.

Turban

Men discussing in Khuri (desert near Jaisalmer).

Market street in Jaipur

Bangles

Bangles are a very important part of a Rajasthani outfit.

My favorite photo today: anklets on a baby girl in her father’s arms.
